I am so happy to see Kathy’s seminars becoming available. Kathy is a great, high-level competitor and also a fantastic teacher for both novices and advanced students, even when together in the same class. She took me and my dog on as rank beginners and gave us solid foundations and novice sequencing skills. Her instructions are clear and concise, comments are constructive and kind. With guided instruction from Kathy focused on specific skills, these seminars fill a gap in agility training for those of us who want to improve but don’t yet feel the need for private instruction. I’m truly delighted to have an opportunity to work with Kathy again.

I started taking sport foundation classes with Kathy as my trainer with my one year old Mudi as a beginner to dog sports. Over the past year and a half the class has evolved into an agility class.
Kathy is calm, patient and very encouraging as a trainer, and she adjusts her methods to fit her students and their dogs. My dog's safety is always a very high priority for me, and I've gotten great guidance in that aspect as well. We have students of wildly varying experiences in our group and, although I can only speak for myself, it seems like everyone is getting what they need out of the class.
Different dogs have different needs, and that's always taken into account and respected as well, which my Mudi who frowns a bit on repetition appreciates.
She really goes above and beyond for her students, and I couldn't have asked for a better introduction to agility.

I have a long history in performance improvement across disciplines. After studying wild killer whales (OrcaSurvey,) I pursued my music passion and played professional orchestral music as a french hornist (former asst. principal horn, Atlanta Symphony). I added another career in health care, leading large process improvement projects for the Division of Nursing at UNC Healthcare. This performance improvement lens is now applied to dog training. I have taken numerous seminars and online classes from agility trainers around the world. Primary influencers are Anastasia Egorova, Melanie Miller, Jenny Damm, Jessica Patterson & Justine Davenport, and Susan Garrett. Photo: Coda's swag from winning the 24" bye to AKC World Team Tryouts.
It's all about your relationship with your dog. That interspecies connection is incredibly special. I focus on training the handler to train the dog, creating layers of understanding and trust over time. Photo: Riffy loves to play hide and seek behind his frisbee!
I am dedicated to you as a student. Don't hesitate to contact me with questions.
